Default On a no Ocean day...

I'll shoot anything with water! This guy was resting after a brief shower today, managed to get a special lens on it that allows me to go x5 magnification. Always wanted to get the water drops on an insects compound eyes...

I think I must have scared the crap out of him though as I'm sure I saw a jet of flames leave his arse as he took off once the flash fired!

    Cheers,
    Mark.

Great shot. But I have a question and please don't automatically assume it to be critical - rather more something I've been asking myself for a number of years now with increasing frequency as digital cameras have taken over.

My thoughts are really how much does your average camera nut actually see of the world we all live in?

The range of camera freaks for this question is going from your end, shall we say "artistic" to the other extreme of those, for want of a better description we can call them "Japanese tourist".

On the one hand your artist seem to go through life looking for that "shot" and they ("Japanese Tourist") are always shooting - anything - the old joke "man robs tourist bus - no one saw him but they have 23 pictures of him" is what I mean.

Your normal human goes merrily triping through the heather and not particularly noticing much but the occasional great art shot and secretly wish he/she could do that too but not really being assed enough to bother.

No worries Markit. I think the photographic journey through life is enjoyed more by the individual be they tourist or not. I like seeing that which surrounds me, I sometimes go looking for it at a minute level as this pic shows. It could be to this macroscopic detail or a broader view, either way I don't mind sharing that with others. Whether they appreciate it or not is down to them, they can easily look the other way or just keep on browsing.

Photography is a very personal thing, people have their own level of dedication to that from the point and shooter to the shooter for a point.

    Cheers.

I'll use that if I may? "point and shooter to the shooter for a point" can think of other meanings to go with it...
