Mobile Phone Plans and Data Plans... Rough Idea?
Hi All,
We want to use our 2 x iPhones (1 x 3GS and 1 x 4) when we move to Bali. Can you please give me an indication of costs for a good mobile plan that includes maybe 500mb to 1GB of data?
Just and indication, and maybe who you use?

If you have a Telkomsel Kartu Halo (a post-paid rather than pre-paid service which means you need a Kitas) then you can add an unlimited data allowance. For Rp125,000 per month you get 1 GB at download speeds up to 1 Mbps, then it slows to 64Kbps for the rest of the month. Or for Rp225,000 per month you get 2 GB at the fast speed, or Rp400,000 you get 4 GB - and this one is only slowed down to 128Kbps.
Pre-paid SIM cards have similar options.

hey ronb - Can you tell me where one would do this? Is there some kind of central Simpati/Telkomsel office or are there a variety of outlets that may complete it? thanks. Also, can you comment on how much airtime the prices below give? thanks
There is a large Telkomsel building in Jl Diponegoro. This is almost opposite Rmayana Department store, and next doo ro RTC (Rimo Trade Centre) which has computer gear. To sign up for a post-paid plan you need your passport and KITAS, or else a local friend with their identity card.
