    Default Spam and Hacking

    Gee...

    I had a site hacked (probably), the database totally gone. Noticed it to late, no backups also not from the provider. :(

    And I recieve a lot of spam email, or better, rejected spam / virus mail from mails that I suppose to have send. This started a little after the the time these http://www.bali-information.com/expat_f ... php?t=2852 discussions were started.

    I guess there's somebody angry with me... and is trying to put me via emails in a bad daylight all over the world.

    Or it could all be a coincidence. But somebody has made treaths like this so suspicion is somewhat justified.

    no backup ? :shock:
    I consider this as a very mean action, also it doesn't make any sense, hopefully you will be able to track him.

    You have invested a lot of time and effort to build up these sites, bitter to see this work gone downhill, below some bookmarks of a friend, think some will be of interest for you :wink:

    I have been thinking, but it may be well an error on my providers side and not a hacker.

    Leaves the spam emails send on "my" behalf.

    It all may not be "him", but his emails with others and posts on the internet will allways make "him" a first suspect.

    And I know that another site, see Name and Shame, also was attacked, some time ago, but with no effect, They also have "him" as first suspect.

    Bert,

    I've read a bit about that links, that's awfull!! By a magazine that I bought last year in Bali, there is a program can handle these virus and make a war with the people send it, the name of the program is Trojan Bulk Mailer. I don't know more about that, but if they bother you so long, better if you "play"...
