Just wondering what sort of house could I get to rent for a year for about $10,000 AUD/88 million rupiah anywhere around Kuta/Denpasar area? Would something fairly small and simple with 2 bedrooms and a small pool be possible?

You could probably find something with a couple years left to run on the lease for that much. Best to advertise in teh Bali Advertiser - it's free and easy.

Markit, property ads are no longer free in Bali Advertizer. They now charge Rp4.400 per word, from memory.
