    Default Vacation in Bali

I am planning to spend my one month vacation in Bali, and I wanna know if where can I find affordable hotels, or apartment to stay there. I thought of maybe extend my stay there if ever it goes well and still have money on my pocket. Any suggestion please?

A lot depends on what you deem as affordable. It also depends on what area or areas you would prefer to spend your time.
Extending your 30 day visa for another 30 days is quite an easy process.

There are plenty of affordable places to stay, I wouldn't worry about that.

As for extending your visa, I wouldn't call it "easy". Three separate trips to the Immigration office over a period of five or so days and having to deal with less-than-helpful non-English speaking immigration officers (one trip to apply for the visa, another to pay for it and the last to pick up your passport). If you've never done it before, you can find it a very confusing and tiresome experience. The alternative is to apply for a 60day visa from your own country before leaving for Indonesia then you are covered. That is what I will be doing on my next trip, I had enough of immigrasi in Denpasar last time. The other way is to pay somebody to do the running around, there are agents who can do this for you. But if you are budget conscious then this might not be the answer for you.

    Good luck.

Thats good advice, you won't have to stand in the VOA line either and if you decide you want to stay even longer word is you can have them extended up to 4 times.

Sorry SamD, it is obvious you do not know the same folk that I do. Many things are easy once you have the contacts.

You are joking right ? , with or without your "contacts" any trip to Immigrasi sucks.

    - whats more easier than paying $60 over the counter at an overseas indo consulate to get an instant 60 day visa etc ..,

    - Even easier still is posting your passport , with a return stamped self addressed envelope , and a money order for $60 and wait a few days .

    - then when you arrive fresh off the plane , and you dont have to jump into the horrendeous "pay for your visa on arrival que"

Sam & Dave, are you two listening! Or is there some type of low IQ area in the Bukit and Jimbaran. I did not say I go to the Immigrasi.
    Read what is written.
Read the original question and be aware my answer was to that. The original post was a question about accommodation and the possibility of a VOA extension.
Davo if you have to go to the Immigration office for a visa renewal that is because of your bad organisational skills. Not mine.
If you do not speak Bahasa Indonesian, that also is your hassle. Not mine.

regarding low IQ's , Are you as vague as your replies ? .

reading what is written , its like this ; A series of connecting answers ....,

1 - you answered the OP by saying a 30 day VOA was renewable "easy enough "

2 - Next up, Sam answered , but gave specific advice regarding visas , with good "usefull advice " for the OP , with details on what was required and what to expect ,He also gave a better alternative to a VOA.

3 - BTK gallantly complemented Sams advice , although I think In BTKs post, his further info toward visas was regarding a social budaya (which requires a sponsor , whereas a 60 day non renewable visa doesnt )

    4 - Then Mr " No Ideas " post ,,,
..., you had to big note your self by putting Sam down ,and dropping the fact that "you had contacts " whoopie-do , care to share them with the OP so you can make your point ? , if not - why skite about it on a forum ?

5 - MY post - commented further; on Sams good advice by stating how a 60 day visa could be obtained easier, than the effort required for a 30day VOA and its renewal , I pointed out exactly how minimal an effort was actually required , which would be usefull info for the OP , which is something that you didnt do other than to skite about your contacts .

6- was your scathing attack on Sam and myself because we ( and everyone else for that matter ) are not mind readers from your limited / vague info given in your post .

You argue, " I didnt say to go to immigrassi " ..., Well you didnt suggest (ie;write) not to go ...., Therefore; if one is to renew a VOA , it is surly logical to assume one goes to immigrasi to do this .

I dont see the point of your posts (ie; anything after your initial post ) ..., other than to big note yourself, and to be insulting ..., and you tell us to read what is written .

Then you assume " I have hassles " with my visa status , and Bahasa Indonesia comprehension -
FYI mr No Idea ( name fits doesnt it ) ..., My organisation skills with immigrasi are excellent , plus I get on with them just fine , and my kitas will soon be renewed into a 5 year Kitap very shortly , without paying corruption money , uang rokok , or a single rupiah over the official fee ..., and regarding my skills in Bahasa Indonesia - it is quite fluent .
    Thankyou for your attention .

Just a quick note, a few people here have reported that immigration are now extending 60 Day Tourist Visa's, not sure about the legality of it but they're treating them the same as Social Budaya's.

    hi buddy..

lots of options to enjoy bali with the low budget. The matter of satisfaction is mostly depends on how we enjoy it right?
if the luxurious villas is much more over-budget, you may try some rent houses. Some rent houses offer you nice view and of course your bargaining skills is a must. for one rent house near Uluwatu may cost around 5 million rupiah per month. Our you can try to deal with some cheap villas probably.

For visa extension, it is not that difficult in Bali. lots of agents will help you with the services but becareful, not all the agents are safe. In some cases they stamp your visa with the fake one so once you go check in to the airport, you ll get into trouble.
I have friend who offer the visa extension service. I can tell you. just email me...probably he can helps you some ways.
