As doing some research, why is it that a house rental is far less costly than a villa rental? I know location and ammenities are factored in the cost but it's a significant difference. It's obvious that majority of the villas have private pools but houses have them too...Is it because of the age of the house or the minimal electrical wattage that's offered with the house??....Hmmm...![]()
Technically if you want to rent your place out as a Villa you need the right kind of License to do so, these licenses costs a lot of money so the owner needs to re-coup the cost. Funny thing is that most of these places don't actually have these licenses anyway. So to answer your question, there really is no difference, its just a fancy name.![]()
BKT, thanks for clearing that up! I guess the search is on for a HOUSE...![]()
I would differ a bit on this. For me the difference between a house and a villa is a measure of the luxury, if at all in the case of a house and of course the location.
A house or rumah can just be a normal Indonesian build - very small rooms, stand up toilet, no yard to speak of, etc etc. Usually constructed for a local buyer/renter
A villa is a whole level above that and constructed with an expat/westerner in mind with all the comforts we tend to take for granted - pool, several toilets - seated, nice kitchen, larger rooms with nice gardens - you get the idea I am sure?

Yea you might find it a little difficult finding a house built to western standards with a pool selling as a house and not a villa.
I have came across such an important discussion. I think Villas are more costlier than House rental.
But as per my information, Bali offers huge numerous Villas, Cottages, Rental House and Holiday homes, so you will not find any difficulty in getting better option.
Realistically, could we secure a rental villa or house within 5 days, can this be done? How's the rental market? Do you have an abundant of villas or houses that become available and vacant over summer as alot of expats leave this particular time?
My situation...visiting Bali the end of this month for 5days looking to secure housing to move in mid-aug. We are currently working with an agent but sounds like she is having a hard time finding places within our criteria and budget. Is it that hard to find a place in Sanur? What can you get for $1400-1500/mo.?....Hmmm????:icon_question
We are looking to rent a year tho we'll be in Bali for 3yrs. Reason why we are looking for a year rental is to first kind of get the feel of the area, then possibly move into somewhere desirable later or extend. We'll be looking into the Sanur area because my kids are attending the Bali Intl' school.
Have to agree with markit,,,world of difference between a house and a villa...
good one hermit,
Aloha, what are your criteria's? and for how long do you wanna rent?
don't read between the lines..i think the words are clear enough...:)
