Hey Matty,
Best of luck with your venture mate. We started a small business almost a year ago in the clothing trade. We started out with just our pennies and remain small to this day but with zero debt. In the past year things have just flown by, we've got our own office etc based in Sanur, our sales have slowly developed through the course of the year to a point now where we are just about maintaining our costs on a monthly basis. Every now and again we will make a few extra Juta for the bank and that feels great. The thing is we're in the garment industry, we've just landed and International client, a big name in their field and are also speaking with an extreme sports training agency with regards to supply them with a line of branded gear. All this sounds positive but whilst we may need investment we're just not ready for that at the moment. There are many things we'd like to do with investors monies but it's all about running before walking. The garment industry is an unforgiving beast but I think in Bali your industry is even more so fraught with pitfalls.
I guess my message is to sit down and carefully think about what you can really expect to do. The cold reality of being $500k into an investor is a daunting thought. You may be SE Asia's answer to Gordon Ramsay but in any given business model I find it hard to imagine how you think you could offer any real ROI on the given time frame. As pointed out the map ahead, before you can look at it, has to make sense.
Best of luck,
Mark.
Thanks canon man .
