Gary, the tax structure is different here to Australia. Tax returns are a very vague thing. By all means keep your receipts but you may never find the means to utilise them.
I operate a few registered businesses here. Tax time is interesting.
A group of 8 money collectors come around every month to collect the tax. Every 3 months a group of 7 different tax inspectors come around to check if the first 8 tax inspectors have done their monthly job.
Every year 6 annual tax inspectors come around to check if the second group of 7 tax inspectors have properly checked the work of the 8 tax inspectors in the first group.
The annual group of 6 tax inspectors then sit down and discuss how much tax you must pay. No one wants to look at any books or worries about depreciation.
The leader of the annual group then comes up with an amount of tax that should be paid monthly. After a few discussions a number is reached that everyone is happy with and off they all potter.

I do? ohh geezzz . I thought maybe the OP wanted some advise from someone with some sort of background in accounting, thats why I mentioned her.

Saying that she actually had to google for the answer as she couldn't remember if it was actually possible.

Gary this is good advise, my wife goes to the tax office every months fills out the paper work, but she has a CV company. As jkbali said keep all your dockets, you my be the first person in Indonesia to get money back from the tax man.

I said he should keep the receipts for documentation purposes - as his question was whether he can depreciate the office furniture he purchased. It has nothing to do with getting money back from the government. It's a common accounting practice use to evaluate the value of your company at any given time. The furniture he purchased will be classified as fixed asset - therefore the answer to his question is "YES" the furniture can be depreciated over time.

I wonder if you even understand his question???
