Promoting Spas and Retreats from afar

Postby magicbrad on Sun Jul 15, 2007 8:00 pm

How many Spa, Hotel, HomeStay owners/operators on this forum? I am interested in helping promote retreats to go to Bali.

Unless you do it for free, this is an advertisement.

More, and you will magically disappear.

Hi Bert, I'm not advertising. I'm not asking because I'm looking for work. From what I have been reading, if I am retired in Bali, I am not allowed to "work". I'm only researching to get an idea of what expats are doing there in Bali, when/if I was to retire in Bali, what would I do, how can I help, where will I fit in? Because there are no recent posts in the Business in Bali section, my assumption is few people on this forum are in "business" (or do not converse about it). Or, they are afraid to talk about business cuz you'll make them... disappear. :o)

Sometimes people magically disappear, because they don't want to talk about Bali but like to make some money on the visitors / members of this forum.

People who have proven to be worthy members however, get a lot of latitude.

Otherwise this forum is about doing Business in Bali. Not to sell anything.

Being retired, and helping people without financial gain, sounds very noble.
That's It !!

But talking about Business...

What did you have to do with : http://www.questforglobalhealing.org/ ?

And I have been looking at your other activities and questions posted elsewhere about Bali a bit, if you don't mind...

I take the liberty to rephrase your question, if I am wrong, you can shoot me.

You run a event organizing business in the US. http://www.tradeshowsandevents.com/ My guess is that you would like to research how you can link this business to Bali, so you can do the local Bali organizing, while you get your clients from the US company.

Or / and you would like to start promoting spa's etc in the US and organize trips from there to, preferably, Ubud.

You are 50 at the moment, so a retirement visa is out of the question. Still you want to build up "relations" in order to be able to "test the waters", to try out a few options, to see if you can make some money, in order to live in Bali, in the beginning at least 6 months a year...
That's It !!

Well... at least there's some activity here now. :) Yes, presently I am 50, and I am just starting my 3-5 year plan to retire in Bali (Ubud) at 55. I do not make any money with TRADESHOWSandEVENTS.com. All those events and resources on there are posted FREE. (although I've dabbled with PayPal stuff, I've yet to make a single dollar from it.) For a profession and living right now, I produce "local" Minneapolis health, home and hospitality expos, but I do not think this forum is the place to "advertise" for me to find exhibitors. What I did for the QuestForGlobalHealing is, I helped promote the event (no fee) via TRADESHOWSandEVENTS.com eNewletter and got 2 people from Minneapolis to go to the conference. The goal was to promote peace and get more people to go. She was going to comp me, but I only got two people. From what I understand, Bali is having a hard time right now promoting tourism. So, I guess the Business in Bali Forum is for discussion of "administrative operations" and "accounting and booking", but no discussion of "sales and marketing". It looks like I am "on the line" here in this forum until I am officially 55. Let me know if I am crossing the line here and I will just dissappear on my own and you will not need to use "your magic powers". :)

There is more to Business than administration Brad.

So, what Magic are you planning for Bali ;)

Are we breaking the rules by discussing this outside of the "Business in Bali" Forum section?

My plans are to establish some freindships (Expats) and relationships in Bali (specifically HomeStays, Hotels, Spas, Tour Operators etc in Ubud)

I hope to help drive some traffic to Bali (specifically Ubud) Spas, Hotels, HomeStays etc. (I stayed in Ketuts Place in Ubud when I was there.)

The "advertising" I do will be focused primarily outside of Bali.

Ok, you can advertise this on http://www.baliadvertising.net (free) or any other places, such as http://www.baliadvertiser.biz

And of course a Google search will give you a lot of "targets".
That's It !!
