We have secured a location in a strategic area of Ubud to open a Gourmet Food Bazaar. The idea is for one-stop-shopping for the expat, restaurant, and hotel community in the Ubud area. The facility will be divided into several different venues to be rented out to different vendors upon approval of the management. As anchor we will have a gourmet mini market featuring imported dry goods, dairy products, cheese and wine, etc. We are looking for any interested party to feature the following products: Ready-to-serve delicatessen items, butcher (local and imported meat), organic produce, bakery, and any locally produced specialty food such as: gourmet coffee, red rice, wine and spirits, etc. If you think you may be interested in participating – for more information please e-mail us at jkjude at yahoo dot com – please be specific and tell us your product and idea. We will response to every incoming e-mail

Hi Zoyra: Thanks for the input. We haven't contacted anybody yet. The property will be available to us as of September at which time we will start renovating. Figure it will take 1 to 2 months to renovate and we will start getting people in there. We have already one of the biggest imported food supplier (but not cold cuts, sausages, and cheeses) working with us. We figure there's going to be enough customer base in Ubud to maintain a profitable business.
Real cheese would be an excellent idea,as opposed to the putty that is sold as such here.Dutch farmers raw-milk extra-old cheese,Passendale from belgium,Bleu d'Auvergne from France, real Pecorino from Italy to name a few.It is the only thing I miss here.We figure there's going to be enough customer base in Ubud to maintain a profitable business.
