cash, checks, cards?

Postby Rliew on Tue Apr 08, 2008 9:42 pm

Hello,

I know this was discussed before but if someone can provide the thread that would be much appreciated. I am going to do a combination of the three for 2 monthes:
I am wondering what is the cost of cashing a traveller check ubud or airport?
What about exchange rates for cash at banks or some drive by street banker?
What do ATMS charge for a withdrawal with international debit or mastercards?

Thank you

Last time we went, we started with a combination of all three, but it turned out we mainly only needed the card. Cash helped a few times, obviously if you're going farther afield you'd need it. Traveler's checks were a waste of time in our experience. Better exchange rate with cards, less fees, time spent cashing them/echanging for local currency, etc, etc.
Hope this answers the q.
Don't know about the thread...
