Tiggy,
I have the beer, the ice and the esky. Do you want me to be waiting at the Ngurah Rai airport?
Ha ha ha great idea no.idea ;), but someone has beat you to the punch on that one. My mate who's picking me up rang me this week and asked "do you want me to bring anything to the airport". I told him to think about that for a moment really hard - saya mau dua besar san miguel and a vehicle for all my gear and we are sweet.
Will take you up on it another time for sure though :D. I have 2 years of not drinking to make up for haha (i'm scared)
(Sorry for the thread hijack OP - its a slow day at work and I'm getting all excited :D)
You will have no problems with your visa.
So you live in a dry community, I never enjoyed the communities in the center, liked the one's near the coast or islands you can do a lot more fishing. Some of the cattle stations we really nice.
so what do you do in the middle of never never land? apart from not having happy hour?
Fred, it has been an interesting experience being out here. I hear ya on the being far from water - top end was going to be my next stop. Love fishing and diving and swimming and all that sorta stuff. Not a big fan of being stuck in the wet though - prefer sandhill and rockhopping 4wd'ing. The mob up there are totally different to my desert mob as well - a fair bit more motivated and have different challenges. Cattle stations would be interesting - never really been but grew up on a horse property.
As to what I do... well that is a very challenging question to answer. It's more like what don't I do haha. I am officially the site manager of the JSA (employment services), but since we are actually non profit community owned, and so far from town with very low literacy we do FAR more!! Combo of social worker, mother, evil woman with a cattle prod, advocate, translator, job and training organiser, training facilitator, centrelink agent, fines fixer, licence getter, banker + managing employees and normal manager bs paperwork crap.
It is dry, but in my package I get fortnightly respite weekends in a suite at Ayers Rock hotel where me and the other whitefellas go and binge drink, er I mean relax. In spare time I play xbox, go 4wd'ing (some AWESOME country out here), read, and work on my bach behavioural science degree.
You do much fishing? I've never been fishing in bali.
