PS...one of the great things about Lion Air (which is owned and operated by Singapore Airlines) is it's safety record, AND if you book far enough in advance, the fares can be VERY cheap...or at least that is the case with Lion Air from Sing to Macau.
Hi Milan,
In early December (a super busy time in NY), with only one week's notice to make reservations, it is absolutely impossible to find a decent hotel at a decent price. Yes, the Hiltons and some others in the same category were available, but at $500 and $600/night! Since I am not about to pay that kind of money for only few hours of sleep, in a town I detest, I was glad to find the Carter Hotel. This hotel, I subsequently discovered when I did some research for my review, is notorious in NY, even among all the other "fee-bags" in the city. There are 2 websites where ex-customers post their "charming" pictures of its rooms, amenities, etc.
Regarding the review, I highly recommend this website, http://www99.epinions.com/, should you require any opinion on any kind of product under the sun (I write film reviews for them). I will further point out that a review is supposed to look at all aspects of a product, and as a result judged excellent, poor, or anything in between, depending on the analysis, and recommended or not.
Keep on smiling.

Daniel, what is a "fee-bag" hotel? Have you used that term in any of your reviews?
Also, how can you detest a great city like New York City?
What's your problem, a*****e? Aren't we allowed a typo from time to time?
“What are you looking at the straw in your brother’s eye for? And the beam in your own eye, do you not notice it?” (Luke 6:41).

Good grief! Daniel’s quoting the New Testament! Is that signaling a change? :P
My question about “fee-bag” hotels was serious Daniel. As you had gone on and on about hotel rates in New York City, I seriously thought that perhaps a new phrase had worked its way into colloquial expressions, i.e. “fee-bag” (too expensive), “flee-bag” (a dump). IMHO, calling a highly overpriced hotel a “fee-bag” hotel would be a nice play on words...thus I asked if you had used it in any of your reviews. I guess not though, given your touchy, touchy response!
As you say at the end of all your posts, “keep on smiling.”
Daniel, I hear you. I understand but it's just that I couldn't finish reading the whole review, that's all. Next time, try to book in the Wellington. Reasonably-priced and excellent location.
But should you need to stay there for 10 days or so, rent an apartment (US 100/day) but I don't know whether this person still lets it and if it's available (an ex-American Airlines hostess) but she rented my other brother, -who was on his way to Las Vegas from Jakarta to gamble for fun- a very charming apartment on the Upper West, above a supermarket which was so convenient for his wife on Columbus Ave. I really enjoyed staying with them there.
Fea-bag and flea-bag: new words for me to learn, thx, Roy.
