Hi all,
Has any of you done the 'upgrade' recently? I am referring to the new law (which yet needs to be implemented) - foreigners, who have been married to Indonesian for more than 2 years, are entitled to Kitab (I'm not touching the subject of 'work permit' here). There is a posting on another forum, explaining step by step the procedure - very detailed - but it was not done in Bali. So, I was wondering if any of you has any experience with the Bali immigration (or any visa agents) recently. Thanks.
Yea I wouldn't mind knowing how to do this as well, chances are no one at immigration will
BKT, where do you wanna do this, down south or up here in pemaron?
don't read between the lines..i think the words are clear enough...:)
I didnt think it was law yet guys![]()
What I heard today from someone who has spoken to immigration Bali is the following. If the person is married to an Indonesian (more than 2 years) and if he/she has been a Kitas holder for 2 years (sponsored by his spouse), then he/she can immediately apply for Kitab. However, not sure if this is the correct information.
That is the correct information (as far as I know) but does anybody knows how much this gonna cost?
I mean the switch to KITAP (B?)
I heard it's quite costly![]()
just to get it straight ok BKT..you now have a KITAS spronsored by your wife and want to change to the KITAP?

Yup, but from what Zoyra has written it looks like I'll need to wait a little longer, I only received my Kitas in March. But if thats true, who ever wants one of these new visas they'd have to go on an unpaid 2 year spouse visa first? That doesn't sound right/fair.
Okey.. will ask for the price next time when I am @ pemaron imigrasi, one of the upcoming days have to go there to start the application for my wife sponsored KITAS.
I am not sure if I understand right (what do you mean with unpaid?), but yeah every KITAS-holder needs to have their KITAS for at least two years before allowed to change it to a KITAP..
