Hi all
when you have a sponser for the social visa, does that sponser have to be living in Indo at time of social visa application.
I live in Australia and have INDO friends, (studying in AUS) who will sponser me.
and when i want to extend my social visa (4x1 month) whilst in INDO does that same original sponser have any role in the extension? i.e if my friend is still in Australia can i get the extension or does my friend have to be in INDI and be with me for the extension process.
also, can the 60 day tourist visa (from embassy in AUS) extend for 4x1 month in INDO, if so do you need a sponsor for this?
Cheers

Bevan which state do you live in & when are you thinking of coming to Bali?
As far as I know, they don't check back with the sponsor. The sponsor letter is usually written as if the sponsor is living at an Indonesian address, then usually signed with the signature partly on one of those small stick-on stamps that official things have. I don't know how essential these details are.
If you are planning on living in Bali your sponsor's address on their KTP needs to be an address in Bali. I don't know if it is the rule that your sponsor needs to be living in Indonesia, but it does make sense. Maybe your friend in Australia has family living in Bali that you could use?

A visa agent advised me that the sponsor must reside in the same province as the location of the sponsored person. With the new rules regarding sponsors, it looks like immigration will be tightening up these regulations. From a previous post by "atlantis".

On my second Q, is the 60 day tourist visa extendable?
Bevan I know some people in Sydney that were given a sobud without a sponsor, they put a good letter in saying they want to learn more about Indonesia. They had to find a sponsor before there first extension. also the new law will fine your sponsor if any problems. try for the sobud without a sponsor![]()
Does not the sponsor have to go with for a sosbud extent ion? I was of the understanding that this was needed after the second extension.

Can anyone provide first-hand experience about sos bud extension.
Does the sponsor have to accompany the sponsee?
what if the sponsor is out of the country?
does the sponsor just have to write a letter every extension?
if this is the case can the sponsee get 4 letters at start and then just date them before submission to immigration for every extension?
No.Does the sponsor have to accompany the sponsee?
Shouldn't be a problem if they are temporarily out of the country. If they are living long term outside of the country, I would suggest finding someone in Bali. As Matsaleh pointed out, immigration is tightening up the whole sponsor arrangement.what if the sponsor is out of the country?
No. Only when you apply for the visa outside of Indonesia do you need the letter. It is a letter of "invitation".does the sponsor just have to write a letter every extension?
If you do the visa extensions yourself, you need to fill in application forms, which your sponsor needs to sign. So if you don't have much contact with your sponsor, it is probably a good idea to get them signed all at once.
If you are using an agent, I don't think you even need to fill out the forms. You only need a copy of your sponsor's KTP and maybe they will ask for the invitation letter.
