Hi all.
Which is the approximately right price for a sosbud that an agency can ask?
Bali IDE wants 700.000IDR i think it's really expensive.
How much you paid?
Cheers
Manuel, please be aware that the Indonesian government increased fees for all visas (except Visa on Arrival) in April of this year.
For visa extensions, I use MAS Tours & Travel, located in Kuta and I'm very happy with their service. They will collect your passport from your hotel and return it when immigration have completed the process. Bali Mas' fees can be found on their website.

Thanks matsaleh!
What does that price include Manuel?
the whole process, so just the sponsor-letter.
I paid USD $45 for my social visa at the Indo consulate in USA two weeks ago.
700,000 IDR is approximately USD $75. So, you're paying $75 for the agency's service and the sponsor letter. Adding this to the $45 you'll need to pay at the consulate, that is about USD $120 for your social visa- and that will last you 2 months in Indonesia. After that you'll need to pay monthly fees to extend your stay up to 6 months.
The question is: Do you have personal contacts in Indonesia who can sponsor you? If so, you will pay only about $45 at the consulate. If not, then $75 is a standard fee for an agency to arrange a sponsor for you.
I have used an agency in the past, and yes it was expensive- but the service was excellent, and I did not have to worry about a thing for 6 months at a time. That was worth it to me! Now, my fiance and I are doing it on our own. Later, if this becomes too much of a bureaucratic hassle for us, we may pay an agency again for the luxury of not having to show up at immigration office every month or two...
Whatever you decide, Manuel, good luck!
Mbok_Mary thanks.
I see you will be there in one month, me too :)
You either have the time or the money.
If you want to avoid all hassles, go through an agency and pay anything between Rp.400.000 to Rp.1000.000 per renewal.
If you are short on cash and don't mind going to the immigration 2-3 times for one renewal (1 month), you'll end up paying around Rp.200.000.
Here is how it works:
