    Default Leniency in retirement visas

I am in the process of moving to bali & the visa most suited to me is the retirement visa except for the age criteria. Im 42yo , financially secure and live with a balinese family in their compound at Lodtundu. Im back in Bali Nov 6th & the family are willing to sponsor me if needed and will take me to immigration to see what options are available..
Are the visas strict or are there any other visas anyone can recommend to me.
i am looking at living longterm & the local school is very interested in me teaching english there for free. I have no desire to come back to australia and I dont need to work so will any of that make a difference ?
    Thank you :)

Well I guess you are too young for a retirement visa. Many people in your situation use the social visa and do visa runs each 6 months.

    Hi vicky,

ron is correct...my experience is that there is no leniency regarding age criteria for a retirement visa.
and not to be a negative as*h*le, but the teaching bit (even for free) is actually a no-no with a social visa.
you could do it anyway ofcourse, you wouldn't be the first and for sure not the last who would.
don't read between the lines..i think the words are clear enough...:)

Got to be 55 to be eligible for a retirement visa ....no leniency .. so just a few years to go : )
Social Budaya is maybe the easiest/less expensive choice ..

Set up a PT or PMA and have it sponsor a kitas - complicated, expensive and specifically for biz .. but an option.

Working even for free .. better to get some info on the way things operate in this country .. before you go there .. especially thinking on a long term ...

If you're teaching for free it may fall under volunteer work. Seems like a grey area here.

"Rules" for Kitas and volunteering on Social Visa

Try a google search for "volunteer in bali" and contact some of the websites. They should be able to provide you with info on how to legally go about it.
