Hi,
Was wondering whether anybody could give me some advise. I have a 211 visa that I need for a 60 day stay as a tourist. If I need to extend my stay, is it possible to do this is Bali? I have noticed that a sociocultural visa is also a 211 and so was my last business visa. On the Embassy sites, it does say that a 211 business and sociocultrual visa can be extended without leaving Bali but it says nothing about the 211 tourist visa. Or alternatively, if I have the 211 tourist visa and then get a sponsor letter whilst in Bali, is it then possible to extend? Thanks and appreciate any advise.
You’re likely to get very conflicting replies to your question. My best advice is to call PT Bali IDE and ask them if they are currently able to renew 60 day tourist visas on Bali at immigration, and if so, for how many 30 day periods.
The 60 tourist visa is not supposed to be renewable within Indonesia (through immigration) but more and more stories have emerged where in fact, they were, according to these stories.
How this can be done without a sponsorship arrangement is beyond me, but as I said, all sorts of tales (and advice) can be found here and on other forums as well.
Thus my advice…consult a professional, and ignore everything else. Cheers!
We have had guests who have extended up to the full 6 months. No sponsor but they have used agents who may have "acted as sponsor".

The only person I know who extended a 60 day 211 tourist visa in Bali had to have a sponsor for the extensions. They extended 4 times for 30 days using the same sponsor each time, and did it direct at immigrasi, not through an agent as they were tight with money.
I would like to get a look at the visa stickers for the extensions, as I wonder if when you extend the visa effectively turns into a social visa?
None of the Indonesian embassy or consular websites have up to date information about the rules for 211 visas as far as I can tell.
Roy is right, the easiest path is to use a reliable agent. You can try a do it yourself arrangement but really, it will depend on who you encounter at immigrasi as to how helpful they will be.
Thanks for the info. I think that I had better take your advice and go to see an agent when I am in Bali in a few weeks time, Thanks again.

Hello all,
I am coming to Bali soon, but I am not ready to decide to stay 2 or more months.
So I'd prefer to avoid the Sosial visa for now.
I read here that there are chances to extend the 2 month tourist visa from Bali and I am asking for an update.
A friend told me this is not possible anymore, as they have changed the stickers (different for Tourist and Sosial now).
Does anybody has the same news?
Or different ones?
Or can we come and stay forever with no visa now? Ahh...that would be good! :)
