Default 1st extension for social budaya visa

I want to get a head start on the first extension for my social visa as its my first time doing it and i will be doing it myself without using an agency company.

    1. what documents will i need to take with me.
    2. what will i need copies of and how many copies
    3. can I get all my forms in advance prior to extensions, like shortly after i arrive go and collect them for all 4 extensions.
    4. can i collect the forms my self and have my sponsor sign them in our own time so he does not need to accompany me to immigration office, or does he have to show his face and sign them then and there when doing an extension
    4. i have heard things about a stamp that needs to be put on my sponsor letter or some other document thats needed and signed over by my sponsor is that correct? and is that to be brought from a post office or the immigration office, and what document is that to be put on.

I will be using the immigration office near the airport, if that alters any information i have asked for. So if anyone has had recent experience and detailed info for whats required and needed for the first extension would be great. Thanks

    1. Your passport, copies of your passport and a copy of your sponsor's KTP (needs to have an address in Bali), a passport photo or 2.
    2. Take a couple of copies just in case, you can always use them again later. A copy of the first page and a copy of your visa.
    3. Yes, you can buy the forms in advance.
    4. Yes, get your sponsor to sign each form for each extension at one time - saves a lot of hassle. In my experience I have never needed my sponsor to go to the immigration office.
    5. I don't believe you need the stamp for any forms. The sponsor letter is only needed when you apply for the visa outside of Indonesia.

The general procedure is to submit your forms and passport, one week before your visa is about to expire. They give you a receipt and tell you when you need to pay. A few days later make the payment. And finally a few days after that your extension will be ready. A couple of weeks later you will be ready to start the whole procedure again!
Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will sit in a boat drinking beer all day.

I have just extended my visa for the first time - after 5 visits. They fail to tell you which documents you need at the start.
You will also need to pay stamp duty 6,000 rp on the Sponsor form and I had to provide a copy of my flight details.
Good luck, hope you don't get the same official that I dealt with. Even the female official shook her head when he advised me on the 5th visit that I needed to provide a photo, having asked him on the 4th visit if there was anything else I needed to bring. At least he apologised for not giving me the full information. Now that I have the first extension, it is now time to lodge the second application - at least I now know what is needed ..... I hope.

Thanks for the heads up,,, I will definitely be taking a copy of every document I have weather I need it or not after hearing that. Is the stamp duty just an added extra on the cost of the visa when you pay or lodge the application or do you have to do that some place else?

These guys will make it as hard as possible for you to extend your visa, just so they can make a few extra $$ when you decide its easier using an agent. So what you should do is take an extra 10 copies of each, give them the required copies and keep the rest in your bag, then when they ask for extra copies (cause you know they will) whip one out and surprise them.

Make sure you take your camera with you as well I'd love to see their faces

Take your own pen also, they will charge you to "borrow" a pen.. They told me I was not able to be in Renon immigration because I live in Kuta so I have to go to the airport immigration. Another point of refusal was that my sponsor wasnt there in person and they just needed to verify everything....!!!

You can buy the stamps at various outlets near supermarkets and the sponsor should sign over it. There is a place behind the Immigration Office in Denpasar where you can buy the stamps as well as getting photocopying done and buy the red folders I was told I had to have.

They are a tax stamp - My driver got mine in Ungasan and I know you can get them at the Immigration Office - separate office. But you will need them on the document for your sponsor to sign over the top before you present the letter with your extension application. The red folders are available at the same office at Immigration as the stamps. Sorry I cannot be of more help with the stamps outlets.
