Why would you want to avoid quarantine.
Why not sneak in some fruit and eggs while you're at it.

What do you expect with a request like this? Dogs need to be quarantined as you probably know or checked out.
Do you want instructions how to bring yet another dog to Bali but don't want to follow regulations? Doubt you'll get a serious answer here but who knows.. you might get lucky

Hi doglady,

I see you've got the info you needed on indonesialiving forum. So hope it helps you to weigh in on which decision to make but a happy end at that as I do understand your need to protect your loved one.

here are the contact details for you from a serious dog owner too.

Putu Ernawan in denpasar, his email is ernawanp@yahoo.com, he will organise everything for you in regard to quarantine etc. his no. is +62 3617449306.
i have found this out through another user on the forum who brought their dog from australia to bali and cost around $1000AUD and only a few days in quarantine.
good luck

...why would i want to bring eggs and fruits from switzerland to bali?...

Exactly. So why would you want to bring a dog?
Close to a million (possibly more) homeless, neglected, abused ones here already.

If you're really going to spend a thousand bucks on this, think how far the same money could go towards Bali's so-called street dogs and the the dog-lovers here who are struggling to do something about their plight.

If you really care, of course.

Akshuallly,

I am thinking of buying a dog in Bali. A western type of dog, the KIND one...

We have had 2 yang asli now, and they are gone....

I think its time for a labrador of some sort :P

Look at some cute dogs here:

Not being "rude".

I love my dogs, too.
I know what it's like...

Now here's an odd coincidence. As I'm writing this, I've got a song playing in the background called "Little Brown Dog"(?) (Taj Mahal version, I think...maybe Keb Mo.)

Oh once I had a little dog
It's colour it was brown
Sang and danced and whistled...

Something like that.

Here is a little pic of my dog, when I still lived in the Netherlands.

I gave him away when I went...

He has died at the age of 15 last year, in a villa in the woods of Belgium

Thats the problem with dogs. When I retire and have the room to treat a dog properly I will get myself a puppy that will out last me.

hello,

thank you for your replies!

i am now delaying my arrival to bali. might not come at all, would be pretty disappointed about that - but my dog comes first. there is no legal or safe way to bring a dog who's got a swiss or german dog passport/health certificate to bali or jakarta. need to have papers from another country allowed to import pets. that way i could bring my dog legal and safe. it is possible, but to complicated and costly for me, at the moment, to achieve.

i love my dog he is my soulmate, i cannot just leave him behind, he is used to me, can't just give him to someone.

lived in bali for 2 years before and had also local dogs. one disappeared after 5 months (he was healthy and good looking, been looking for him intensely for over 3 weeks, day and night and no sign of him, nobody who saw him dead or alive...) one died, she was too tiny and ill, even vet could not help anymore. one i gave shelter to, was hit by a motorbike and had a broken leg which luckily healed, and he had a happy life until he got cancer, operation also did not help.

........ i guess what i wanted to say was, i could bring my dog and still help others. ah, and while i'm at it, please, all dog lovers, please sign this petition:

http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/save-b ... -indonesia

bert, thank you for objective answer. bali ide helped me to find out the infos i needed, and adviced a cargo company who can handle importing dogs.

cheers,

doglady
