Default Visiting Bali --- help needed !!!

    Hi All!

I'm new to this forum and could sure use some help. My hubby, me and another couple are planning a trip to Bali in Sep/Oct. We would like to stay in a place which is quiet, relaxing and offers spa services yet at the same time we do not want to be very far from the markets and eating joints. We did some research and think Seminyak would be a nice place thats suits the above requirements. What do you think?

Also we are keen to rent out a two bedroom villa and were looking at a budget of around US$200-250 per night. Some places we had in mind are

    Ahimsa Estate
    Villa Rumah Minas
    Villa Lalu

One more thing - we would like something close to the beach if not on the beach itself....

Please let me know your comments on each of these plus any other recommendations that you have. Thanx!

I've stayed at Vila Rumah Manis previously.

The villas are spacious, with a sleeping area and sitting room on each level of the villas. A bathroom on each level, upstairs indoor and downstairs in the open air.

Each villa has it's own plunge pool and private garden area, which is very pleasant after a full day of sightseeing. It's about 20 minutes walk to Seminyak beach down Jalan Arjuna (Double 6).

The villas have not been renovated for a few years and are looking a little tired, but this all adds to the ambience. I must admit, I enjoyed staying here very much.

    Hope this helps.
Madness takes its toll. Please have exact change.

Thanks matsaleh. We did read about Rumah Manis.....

Folks .. I thought I would have a lot of replies on this ... but a very lukewarm response ;)

Can someone else also give me some pointers?

    8) Tell me more about your expectations and requirements. Can you walk and do you mind walking ? Do you want to hire a driver to transport you and have use of his vehicle everyday ? Is Airconditioning important to you ? Do you want cooking facilities and refrig. in your villa ? There are many spa's in that area depending on what you want and expect. the costs vary greatly . Is it important to have a pool at your villa ? You tell me more and perhaps I can give you a better idea of how to do what you want to do. Have you been to Bali before ? :?:

Okey here goes answers to your questions...

Yup we can walk and dont mind walking but if it is in context to a beach would rather have something maybe within 5 mins walk from the beach...

Nope dont need a vehicle r transport all the time... maybe in the evening going to Kuta or something ....

Aircon is important to us though and yes a pool in the villa :)

Nope never been to Bali before so its our first time...

Our budget is about max 250 USD per day (for 2 couples)....

do let me know your thoughts

I couldn't find anything on Ahisma, but the other two I think are a little too far from the beach for your liking. I think you can do better than Vila Rumah Manis for your money. I have found a gorgeous villa, Villa Surati in Seminyak on Jl Double Six, it is less than a 5 minute walk to Blue Ocean beach, but close to lots of restaurants and shops. It is under your budget and is even better in reality than on the web. Be quick if you want to book this place. You can check out the website http://www.villasurati.com. I have looked at a lot of villas in Bali and I really don't think you will find better value than this one in such a great location. Good luck
