KL Visa - How Many days

Postby Roamer on Sat Apr 28, 2007 3:25 pm

This has probably been asked before, but I've done a search and couldn't find an answer - how long does it take to get a 60day Social Visa in Kuala Lumpur, we need to book tickets and I'm not sure how long to book our stay for?

The Indonesian Embassy site says three days.

You might be able to get a faster turnaround if you use an agent.

Hi Allan

The link you posted above:
http://www.kbrikl.org.my/immigartion/process_fees.html

doesn't work for me. Did you copy & paste it or type it in? I'm not sure that 'immigartion' is an acceptable spelling for 'immigration', even in Malaysia.

I have never been to KL so don't know how the Indonesian Consulate works there. But most that I have been to in the last few years, (Singapore and Australia), still had an option to speed things up by paying a bit more. Even after the 'official Indonesian government directive' that all visa applications were to take 3 days.

I imagine that there are 'visa agents' in KL, like the ones in Singapore. The latter have never blinked an eyelid regarding getting a visa in one day (at least from my experiences).

So, in order to help the person with the original question, do you (or anyone), know of specific agents in KL?

:)

Works fine for me.

Roamer didn't ask about an agent and I don't know one personally. If I was looking for one I would try Bali IDE and see if they could hook me up.

UK took 5 days inclusive of posting rather than direct delivery. Saudi took 3 days delivered direct to consulate so I think that is fairly indicative.

Hi Allan

Sorry about your Malaysian link that didn't work for me post.

It was a problem I've been experiencing with many web-sites lately..."Server Not Found" error in both my Firefox and IE browsers.

I've since 'fixed it', and everything is OK again.

During my searches for solutions, I discovered that quite a lot of other people have been having this particular problem, too. It wasn't just me. Some of the 'remedies' were totally useless. I'm mentioning this in case other people here have encountered this 'problem'.

I might add that kicking the computer repeatedly does not work.

Sanurian

Not a problem. Glad you found a fix.

I can tell you also that repeatedly kicking a wooden filing cabinet until it splintered into little pieces did not improve a manager's opinion of me.

Yes, Allan

I can well imagine that and where you went wrong.
You should have kicked the manager into splinters, not the filing cabinets.
