    Default Singapore Transit Hotel

    Hi,

Iám planning my trip to Bali.
I am going to fly with Airfrance to Singapore. The flight arrives at 18.30 so it is too late to catch the flight to Bali. So i will take the next morning garuda's flight to Bali.

I want to use the transit hotel, i know that it is situated before the customs. Now i have to pick up my luggage from the airfrance flight, so i can check it in the next morning at garuda.

Has anybody used the transit hotel, and what to do with my luggage? Can i take it to the transit hotel or can i leave it somewhere to pick it up the next morning? It's too early to check in my luggage at the garuda flight. When i go through customs i can't use the transit hotel because i only have my e-ticket number for garuda.

    thanks again,

    Hugo

Hugo, you need to deal directly with the Ambassador Hotel as they can tell you exactly what terminal to go to once you give them your flight details. You cannot take any luggage with you, your bags will be forwarded to the flight.

    there is some information here

Thanks for your quick reply. I emailed the ambassador with my question. But who forwards my bags? The airline company or the ambassador? Normally with 1 airline company i know it will be forwarde but with 2 different airlines?

    thanks,

Another option would be if Air France would be able to check your bags straight through to Bali.

Even though they are different airlines, quite often you will be able to get your baggage tagged all the way through to your final destination. You have your e-ticket number, also if you go onto the Garuda website - http://www.garuda-indonesia.com - and then you go to booking status, you can put in your six digit Garuda booking reference and your itinerary will come up and you can print it.

If you choose the above option, you will not be able to access your check-in luggage until Bali, and you can book ahead to stay at the Transit Hotel that is airside. Best to do so, last month when I passed through didnt book ahead, they didnt have availability, so had to leave the airport and get something.

    Just another possible option.

2 years ago I took the same flight with AF to Singapore. And I booked my flight from Singapore to Bali via Jakarta by Garuda. So my flight was Singapore - Jakarta - Denpasar. As I remember just about 10 Euro more expensive compared to Singapore - Denpasar. Garuda was very helpful. There was a 45 min delay for the Flight Singapore - Jakarta already announced when I arrived at the Garuda gate in Changi. So I was very nervous when arrived at Jakarta with 1 hour delay. But - very surprised (and happy) - the Garuda flight Jakarta - Denpasar was waiting just for me and another passenger :-) to bring us to Bali! And even my luggage arrived with us.

i used to overnoght there every second month on my way home from work, i dunno about now but about 3 months ago it was impossible to get a room there, it was fully booked out 6 weeks in advance. The waiting lounge there had been turned into a refugee camp of people hoping for no-shows.
