    Default Second hand book shops

I am an avid reader and find that if I frequent one shop, my choices are frequently consumed, way too fast. I am staying in Seminyak and prefer, currently, the outlet at Bintang super market mall.

Ganesha in Ubud is the only good 2nd hand book store I have seen in Bali. I remember some places in Bangkok that paid good money for 2nd hand books, the result is that you have a lot of good, new books availble to read, particularly with a focus on Asia. The 2nd hand book stores in Bali that I have seen don't seem to understand this concept and carry a lot of books that aren't worth reading. I can only suggest getting a Kindle or reading books on your computer.
Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will sit in a boat drinking beer all day.

Spicyayam, I can find very, very few Kindle books available to me as a resident of Indonesia. Is there a secret I don't know about?

I agree with you about Ganesha. It's a great used book store and if I lived in the south it would be worth an occasional trip to Ubud to load up on books.

Thank you, I have noted the name and will ensure I spend some quality browsing time there.

That is very 'topical' to me, as well. I tried to download from the Amazon site, to be told they will not allow it's use in Indonesia. Any other experiences?

Thank you, I have been past that shop, but the last time it was being renovated.

    Default Books with END!

I have pointed to this post a number of times and probably will again in the future unless Management decides to make it a bit sticky?!

Here you can download all the books in the world - Old and NEW!

Just scroll down to my lovely baby picture and follow the instructions.

Yes, I have used this source and downloaded many. It's not actually "all the books in the world". I am often hearing of a book that interests me and then check here - very recent books are often not there yet, and Aussie authors are not as likely to be there as US authors. There are quite a few people making these books available, and one using the name of artbatista has 4,200 books in epub format. These are mostly good quality e-books. Other providers have longer lists but the quality of the e-books is more uneven.

Yeah, you are welcome too Ron.

Sorry about the Ozzy authors - care to name any that are world renown?

    That's what I thought...
