Hi!

I am a little confused about the Indonesian addressing system and I thought that this would be the best place to find out.

I understand that the format goes something like this

Jl [Street]
Gang [number] [house no][SOME LETTER]
[town] [zip/postcode]
Bali - INDONESIA

Would you be able to tell me if this is correct.

Some house numbers are suffixed with a C or an X please would you be able to tell me what these mean.

Hi Again,

I met a very nice Balinese girl in Sanur who gave me her address. I have found the following information on the web which has made me a little dissappointed:

"Houses in Sanur with a house number suffixed with X indicates that it is a brothel."

Is this true? It does appear that there would be many houses and businesses operating as brothels if this were true. Maybe this is just a misinterpretation or a mistake?

I would appreciate it if somebody could confirm this for me.

Ah, the X files....

No. The X is also on housenumbers that have nothing to do with brothels.

Your addressing is right....

Where is she from ?
