Hotel iN Ubud

Postby nessie on Thu Apr 12, 2007 11:43 am

Looking for a hotel in Ubud, thats reasonably priced, but nice..

Tried the Tegal Sari, but booked out on my dates.

i know there are heaps of them, but need to be fairly flat in the the compound of the hotel, as my friend has a Sore back, most of the beaut places in Ubud are hilly, and needs Air Conditioning as well...

Any Suggestions

Thanks I am new to this forum

Welcome Nessie

Sorry I can't help you I stayed in a hotel in Ubud only once with a friend in June last year but can't remember the name I know it was down the road from the markets.

I am sure someone here will help you.

I would suggest, moderately priced, Alam Indah, Alam Jiwa, and Garden View Cottages, all in Nyuh Kuning (on the other side of Monkey Forest. Depending on your dates, the first two will most likely be booked, Garden View has usually some vacancies (it's cheaper, about US30 - 40/night, incl. bft). Anyway, they are all worth a try.
Keep on smiling.

mark,
Robin here.. How are things going for you, good I hope. i am glad to be back in the states especially now that I see I did not actually make any friends. I was wondering if you could send me the pics of my kids. I did not take them back to monkey forest to get pics because the ones you took were good and they have been asking about them. Those pics were very rememberable for them. Thanks in advance. And let us know how things are going for you in your journeys.

Jimbo, Writing on the forum is not my thing so I am going to make this straight to the point. I compare expats (both men and women) to a sewing circle. You know the ladies that look so sweet but the second you turn your back they mock and laugh at you, making you the story line of every one-liner and cruel joke. I sat around so many times listening to this be done and Im positive it was also done to me. The reason I wrote something to Mark is because he and I have sat around the table at Nuris many times and discusses the back stabbing that goes on. I thought I was going to come home with great stories and a whole new set of friends but i was mistaken. I guess the only thing you can be sure to find in Ubud is a penis bottle opener. Robin

Robin

Sorry it was a bad experience. I have been a professional expat for almost 40 years and have always hated that side of the life. So much so that I tend to immerse myself in the local culture and people rather than the expat community.

They re not all bad however just some and belive me that they would be the same wherever they are. Good luck for the future.

Definately

Hi Robin

I am glad you wrote your views. I also agree with you and from my experience it is the worst in Ubud and the place where I experienced it was Nuri's,

Some expats are my best friends and obviously they are not all the same.
