Hello everyone! I feel so fortunate to have stumbled upon this site. I am brimming with questions. I recently graduated from uni and am headed to Bali for a lil rejuvination :D
My friend and I have tickets to Denpasar the 21st of Sept. Our tickets are only for 60 days, visas permitting, but we would like to stay six to eight months ideally. Would you suggest trying to get a social visa through an Indonesian friend? Any prospects for work without the proper visa? Restaurants? Bars? For expats?
How is Griya du Flamboyant in Jimbaran? Its $250/mo US for both of us. We are looking for a cheap place on/close to the beach. Yipee! I am in land locked Iowa right now.
Any tips? I have been to Bali once, but just for a visit...
Tri makasi!

Pretty much NO chance of work in Bar's, Restaurants etc for tourists!!!
that really is not an option...
Thanks for your reply. Any insights concerning the other questions?
Personally, I'd arrive & then find a place to stay that night & then start asking questions to the loacl surfers on thje beach about cheap places to stay near the beach etc, the area you'd prefer to stay in...Kuta, Legian, Jimbaran etc...
Find a place that you think you could handle staying in for the amount of time you have chosen & rather than agree on a nightly price you should say .... We plan to stay 6 weeks what's your best price etc???
As for getting a Social Budaya??? Sorry!
A cheap place to stay in Kuta is the Bali Sandat II
its 80,000 per night +- $8.00 very basic no air co just a fan
but clean & there is a pool. The guys there are great Just ask for Kadek . Its on poppies gang 2 so near all the beach/shops etc. maybe too busy for you but in the hotel its suprizingly quite.
i am not advertising but thought it maybe a option !!!

Hi Terry,
Are you still on Bali or back in Holland already.
And how is it in Kuta now, busy or quit ??
They tell us tourism is going better again, but i have
my doubts.

Hi Ligaya,
There are a lot of places everywhere in Bali where you can stay for approx euro 10,- per night including breakfast.
I myself allways go to Candidasa and there is a backpack
place where you can stay including breakfast for euro 3,- per night near the beach.
And you cannot work on Bali and to get a visum so you can work is no option aswell.
Have a great time in Bali
