Gift idea for village family

Morning all,

I'm heading to Bali next week and my friend is taking me to meet his parents at his village. I thought it would be nice to bring them a gift but I'm a little stuck for ideas.

I'm in Oz so I'm trying to think of something Australian maybe. I'm going to take photos and send them copies etc but I would like to arrive with a gift.

Any ideas?

Aus. or bali hmmm... how bout cash! in both denominations! cover yourself.. :) Wow what a tough quistion to be asking someone, and expecting an answer. Try asking your friend, he knows his parents best... I would say something that has a story behind it, about yourself or where you are from. I would be very modest in your selection,and not over do it. I think they would most enjoy your time and company more than material objects.... but then again Honda makes a killer new fuel injected scooter, with one piece black wheels, copper in color,, lalala............ sorry I want one.... I'll keep it modest and buy them a scooter, lol.

If i ask my friend he'll say i don't need to get them anything. I just wanted to get them something little to say thank you but I don't it to be anything inappropriate.

Just thought someone else might have a brought some gifts for Balinese family members/friends etc.

a very simple gift could be a good photographic calendar of the region you live in.
