Discover Bali On Line (Video and Stills)

Postby IntrepidBerkeleyExplorer on Tue Apr 01, 2008 10:40 pm

My film "Gamelan, Garuda & Ganesh" can be seen on the web, if you have a high speed internet connection.

This Bali and Java (Indonesia) video features Balinese dance, music, masks, shadow puppets, a cremation ceremony, Java’s Buddhist & Hindu World Heritage Sites, the Ramayana Ballet, and much more, including digital effects.

This is a free, non-commercial, streaming video on the Windows Media Player. No ads and no strings attached. I sell absolutely nothing.

My video site is:

The Bali and Java still photo gallery can be viewed with any modem at:

http://www.geocities.com/intrepidberkel ... age21.html

There are over 30 of my other free, amateur travel videos on-line covering all seven continents. Visit Italy, Japan, England, Antarctica, Peru, Hawaii, China, Russia, Mayan Temples, Greece, or Turkey; see whales, penguins, or polar bears.

The planet is yours, including my Home Page giant galaxy of still pictures at:

Impressive body of works!

If I may just say one thing? The audio of your narration needs fine tuning.

I was in Los Angeles in 2001 where they had all these Asean festivals exhibited in the park (forgot the name), right in the city? There was a vast group of American guys and girls who appeared on stage playing the gamelan and the Balinese dancing that would not have sounded/done any different if it had been performed by Indonesians. Really wonderful...

So, too your site.

Thank-you.

milan,

Audio is by far the hardest thing to get right, both analog plus digital. And narration can end up too loud or or too soft, especially when accompanied by music.

Glad you liked the Bali video in general.

Audio sounds echoic/too far.

You've travelled to all these countries? I see here including Milan too.
Great to have such rich experiences.

Well done!
