I have a wedding to go to in November. The two closest tourist areas are Candidasa & Tirtagangga and I have never been to either. Where would be the nicest place to stay for a few days? Does anyone have a decent, reasonably priced hotel to recommend in the area.

hi mimpimanis
i would recommend my australian friends hotel called the puri oka ph. 0363 41092. it is a lovely old resort that has been renovated over the past 12 mths so its looking good. it is up the northern end of town and right on the beach so its very private and quiet. there are many resorts to choose from in this village but i think you would like this one. not sure on prices just give them a ring.
the owners have just returned home for 6 mths but they have wonderful staff.
cheers keryn
Hi Keryn
Where is it, in Candidasa or Tirtagangga? I dont even know how far apart these places are just that they are about equal distance from the wedding venue.

Hi Mimpimanis,
We have two places we love to stay.
One is Temple Cafe and Seaside Cottages in Central Candi Dasa (opposite Watergarden) - see http://www.balibeachfront-cottages.com/. Managed by Shirley (Australian) who is a great host.
The other is Lumbung Damuh in Manggis, which is a few Km on the Denpasar side of Candi Dasa. See http://www.damuhbali.com/. It is opposite the well marked Royal Bali Beach Club - see http://www.royalresorts.com.au/resor..._candidasa.php.It is right on a beach which is stony, fishing boats operate from here, and out in the Bay, Lombok ferries may drop anchor, and also tankers coming to the Pertamina terminal a short distance to the south. Lumbung Damuh is in a short street with about 3 warungs that are quite good. There is also the more up-market restaurant in the Royal Bali Beach Club.
I hope this helps.
Thanks Ron.
Bali beach front looks ideal and has a good range of rooms that seem very reasonable. I will just double check the date of the first ceremony and then get in touch with them to book.
