XXX.com is a travelling agent website with many traps.
First of all, you are subject to at least 15% of the total room rate as cancellation/downgrad/shorten charge as soon as you make a reversation. The best senario is that you make the change three days in advance during low season, you will be only charge for 15% of the total room charge for the cancellation. You may not get any dime back in most of the cases.
Secondly, even if you agree to pay the 15% as cancellation charge, you may not get any refund back. In my case, I haven't received the 85% refund for a cancellation being made three months ago. They just simply ingore your email and phone call.
Lastly, the advertisements on the websites are very misleading. for example, "private villa with swimming pool" won't necessary mean you will get a private villa with private pool. You may end up with a private villa with shared pool. You won't get what you want unless you look through the advertisement and check the details very carefully.
In general, this is a website with lots of traps. When did you inform them any change won't matter at all because you are already subject to the charge as soon as you send out the application.
Lastly, XXX.com has fraudulently used many of registered logo such as Pacific Asia Travel Association, IBM Business Partner and VeriSign. I got the confirmation from those associating organizations. If any of you need to see the letter, I will post them here. I hope everyone will have good time to Bali by selecting a good travel agent.
