We booked Uluwatu Surf Villa via bali-XXX.com for March/01/2003~March/05/2003.Upon arrival, we were taken to Villa Bukit Hideaway without any advance notice. We have no choice but accepted the change. After checking in , we found the TV didn’t work. We asked them to fixed the problem but the effort was in vain. Then we tried to contact balivillas.com but the 24 hours service line was not answered. We followed the instruction to call Mr.Nyoman X his mobile phone was turn off (19:30pm). By the time we got in contact with Mr.Nyoman X, it was the third night. We asked him to come to our villas to explain the bad service but his attitude was extremely hostile. He agreed to come in until we told him we would report the incident to his boss Mr. Peter Rieger. They did send a technician to fix the TV. Mr.Nyoman X also came in later but all he did was to condemn the staffs. We looked for a peaceful vacation in Bali but instead we had an unpleasant trip. We booked the accommodation via bali-XXX.com because we were attracted by its good service being advertised on its website. None of us believed we had received the same level of service bali-XXX.com has claimed.

We booked Canggu Villa Sunset via bali-XXX.com. the rate was USD$550/day. From the begiining, we realized that bali-XXX.com is not a good or reliable company at all. We paid for 10 people, but they only made arrangement for 8 people. The villas we stayed has 5 rooms but only two of them has hot water. We had to line up for taking shower because only one shower head was working. The electricity was on and off through the first two days. After the third day, no room had hot water at all. It was difficult to find anyone from balivillas.com to help us when we had problem. The local customer service phone was never answered. On the fifth day whiel checking out, we were asked to give tips (USD$2/day) for all 12 employees. We only saw two house keepers, one security and one gardener through 5 days. After we were back from the disappointing trip, we filed complaint to bali-XXX.com and asked for explanation. The answers were never satsfied. We are all very regret and upset to pay a higher price to a company aiming for ripping people off. I will never recommend anyone to book accommodation via bali-XXX.com.

    Default internet booking

I hope no one is misleaded by my postings. Internet booking doesn't always has high risk or bad experience. You just have to know how to choice a good travel agent. XXX.com and bali-XXX.com may not be your good choice.

    Default explanation from bali-xxx.com

Maybe the following explanation from bali-xxx.com can verify above claim. As far as I know, Meggie is still very upset and is not satisfied about how bali-xxx.com has handled her claim.

    Quote:

These guests booked in 2002 a 5-bedroom villa for March 2003 and on their reservation they list 8 guests. So we prepare everything for 8 guests.

The villa staff insists there was hot water and the showers were working most of the time (when there was electricity).

Electricity problems in Bali are well-known and also mentioned in our FAQ's, and without electricity there is neither hot nor cold water.

The guests did not even once call our office during their whole stay in Bali but say they complained "to their driver" (who did not contact us which was a mistake).

The Bali-xxx.com office phone is always answered, and we have special handphone numbers for the Manager on Duty during night hours. When calling the Bali-xxx.com office guests from Taiwan even can communicate in Mandarin, and they received a Mandarin language welcome letter explaining all procedures.

Only after their return the guests complained to us. We had repeated correspondence and apologized for the driver not calling the Bali-xxx.com office and the villa staff asking for tips.

Moreover, our Taiwan office sent them immediately a box of chocolates and 2,400 NT as refund for the tip they paid in Bali.
