    Default 42 Tourists Deported

The Bali Post reported today that during the first seven days since the implementation of the new visa regulations effective February 1, forty-two tourists were deported from Bali’s Ngura Rai airport. While the number of deportees by country was not disclosed, the deported tourists were from Spain, Holland, Sweden, Austria, Mexico, Belgium, Turkey and Ireland. These newly arrived tourists were not citizens of countries on the “approved” list to apply and pay for tourist visas on arrival.

If these 42 deported tourists were to spend only an average of $500 in Bali during their planned visit, then that would have been enough to pay a month’s wage for 4,410 Balinese. Brilliant move, eh? :x

    Default A Correction

By the way, I made an error in my initial first post. I meant to type 441 Balinese, not 4,410. Ma'af.
