I am at a loss as to why so many think this particular loo is such a big deal.
What a fantastic reason to visit Bali. :roll: :roll:

Crackers Pub in Bedugul is also an interesting place to have some serious political discussions with some of the local Moslems guys hanging around. :!:
Keep on smiling.

Well as we all know, finding a place to relieve oneself are few and far between in Bali. So the lews provide a welcome "relief" so to speak. Yes they are posh by most Indonesian standards. This may be understood by women more than men!!

Thanks for all the replies regarding the LOO!!
I have been at the Bedugal Markets last wednesday, it took us a little while to find the place, but indeed the loos are beautiful! I hope they keep up the maintenance.
We bought some croissants and home made strawberry jam, the baker heated the croissants for us and we had them with a nice cup of coffee in the Crackers Bar.
The Strawberry jam is delicious, we would say morrish

Well, it's pretty easy to explain, they're clean & functional and you don't need to wear your wellies, which is more than can be said of 99% of the dunnies in Bali. Not really a big deal till you need to go, & if you have an aversion to a decent dunny, you can always visit a local squat; that's if you can hold your breath for long enough to do the deed. That's the beautiful thing about choice :roll:

I don't think it's ever been claimed to be a reason to visit Bali;
but when you're in the middle of nowhere and need to go then that'd be fair enough reason to pay a visit.

BTW; it sounds as though you've never checked them out, do that first then form your opinion, I think you'd be surprised.
:wink: :wink: say no more

Orang Gila,

When outside my own house in Bali, I only do what even the King gets off his horse to do, at the outstanding Lamak Restaurant's lavatory. :)

Speaking of Bedugul, I am off later this week for a few rounds at Handara Country Club. I’ll be playing with our friend Laurie from Ubud who used to be an LPGA tournament player. I know she is just going to spank me silly on the links. To add insult to injury she tees up at the white tees, not the red tees, so I will have no excuses for what will almost certainly be a very embarrassing defeat at the hands of a woman!

My dad always used to say there are two places where a woman does not belong. One is on the golf course. The other was behind the wheel of car. Sorry dad...Laurie is driving too! :shock: :shock: :shock: :shock:

I guess after all of this spanking me silly is over I will check out this Crackers Bar and attempt to regain my manhood. Wish me luck, or better yet...make lots of offerings wishing that her golf balls turn into eggs!

I've been up to Bedugul four times in the past three weeks on the way back from the dentist in Denpasar. Each time that I stop in the market this bar has been closed. Is it ever open?
