    Default Hotel in Singapore?

I will be making a visa run to S'pore soon and would like a good small hotel recommendation. Would prefer something in the $50-70.(US) range that is clean and has basic comforts, and hopefully not too far from Orchard Rd. or/either Chinatown.
A google search was fruitless. Thanks

Mugwump, it's not cheap to stay in Singapore. In fact, it's very overpriced in my opinion. I've stayed a few times in a place called Lloyd's Inn in Lloyd's Road. It's in a good location near the centre of town and the rooms are very clean, but it doesn't have a pool.

It's only 500 metres to Orchard Road and about the same to the MRT station (Somerset).

The price is SG$90 per night, which translates to about US$68.

    Their website is here:

Try the Agoda website. They offer huge discounts.Hotels in all places of Singapore. The cheapest ones are in Geylang, wich is called red-light district, but very tame to western standards. If you choose a hotel close to the MRT,you are in the center in no time.
