We’re looking for enthusiastic, idealistic, sustainability-minded people who are interested in joining together to make a group purchase of land in Bali or another part of Indonesia for the purpose of setting up an alternative, permaculture-oriented, back to basics, back to nature, organic farming residential community. This is a low start up capital community, there’ll be no villas or SUV’s here - just people who want to walk the talk on sustainability. This one is for the true idealists! Bamboo and other natural housing materials, compost toilets, communal facilities and vegetable gardens, water saving, etc. Probable investment of around $5,000 to $10,000 per party in land purchase. There is already some interest, so we will organise a meet up in Ubud or Kuta on Wednesday 21st December at 6pm to discuss in person with anyone interested. Please ask further questions below or send us a private message. We respect diversity and practice non-discrimination. Thank you!
5-10K for landpurchase only?
don't read between the lines..i think the words are clear enough...:)
How are you going to handle "ownership" of the land? How much land do you invision $5-10,000 would buy? What locations are you considering right now?
Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will sit in a boat drinking beer all day.
It could be bought or leased, depending on the group involved.
Ownership could be by individuals or by company, or it could be a lease. We're not disclosing locations publicly for obvious reasons. $5-$10k could acquire a lot of land depending on how many people are involved, or just a small plot if there's not many!
goodluck and keep dreaming

Hi freeman,
I somehow like your idea(lism)! I'm about to buy 20-30 ha near the ocean in Bali (near a big river too where you could park a boat), the land prices are very low compare to the south of Bali, the land is freehold (you know what that means for foreigners ;-) but there's more land available (46 hectares total)
If you interested send me a mail / PM here....
Cheers
Marc
Good idea (as for make a community from the begining).
Any luck to find proper enthusiastic, sustainability-BAMBOO-minded people?
I would go.
Thanks for your replies everyone. Since we posted this we have also started a facebook group called Bali Simple Living Community at https://www.facebook.com/groups/329691710382838. So if anyone is interested in joining in the discussion there please feel free.
I joined this facebook page to see what it was about. It was all about the guy who is founding it "freeman" ? It appears that unless you agree with everything he says, you dont have a say. Recently, he decided who should be in the "community" and was to delete every one HE thought shouldnt be there. Sounds a bit like Jonestown to me!![]()
