Don, nobody in their right mind gives a toss about Berg - every rational american knows this is merely another slander campaign to ignite the hidden prejudices of bigots like you.. i guess that if obama was to fulfill your ridiculous little quest and provide the necessary documents, you'd make a formal acknowledgment of his legitimacy as a candidate? i don't think so - your idiotic right wing groups would probably try and tie him to bin laden, if they haven't already..Originally Posted by Sumatra
and funny enough, now i see mccain is out this weekend campaigning on "we don't know anything about obama - for a guy that's written 2 memoirs, we know nothing about him".. obviously in the US, republican strategists still feel that they can swing it their way with these filthy, revolting tactics..
there was one thing biden said that i disagreed with in the debates - he was asked:
his answer:Let's come full circle. You both want to bring both sides together. You both talk about bipartisanship. Once again, we saw what happened this week in Washington. How do you change the tone, as vice president, as number-two?
i know this is a politically correct response and it was a fantastic answer, but i believe there are many in the congress and senate who's motives are very questionable, and the majority of those senators and congressmen are overwhelmingly republicans.. yes there are democrats too, but far fewer..Mike Mansfield, a former leader of the Senate, said to me one day -- he -- I made a criticism of Jesse Helms. He said, "What would you do if I told you Jesse Helms and Dot Helms had adopted a child who had braces and was in real need?" I said, "I'd feel like a jerk."
He said, "Joe, understand one thing. Everyone's sent here for a reason, because there's something in them that their folks like. Don't question their motive."
I have never since that moment in my first year questioned the motive of another member of the Congress or Senate with whom I've disagreed. I've questioned their judgment.
this may seem idealistic, but i use a simple test - it's a simple thing to evaluate.. democrats generally favour higher taxes for the rich - A CATEGORY OF WHICH DEMOCRATS THEMSELVES GENERALLY FALL INTO - so they essentially stand there year after year and say that they themselves should pay higher taxes for the good of the country.. This only leaves one question, in general, what selfless policy do the stinking rich republican congressmen and senators embrace? i.e. what policy of theirs truly impacts them negatively for the benefit of the nation?
Don,
You mean you never heard, much less read The Israel Lobby, by John Mearsheimer and Stephen Walt? My point to bring them up was to remind you (but it couldn't remind you any thing since you don't known them in the first place), how they both got vilified by AIPAC as anti-Semites (just has you did with me) because they dared to point out the "wag-the-dog" scenario regarding the USA-Israel relationship.
And to everyone,
On another subject, but still related to the present presidential race, McCain-Palin are asking today, "Who is Obama?" and "We don't know Obama," with Palin explicitly stating also today that Obama is a traitor to the US. So, I ask "Who is the real McCain?"
Because of my age, I hardly read Rolling Stone anymore...so here is an article my LA hip son forwarded to me that really lays it out...in such a way that I am beginning to wonder if Bush wouldn't be better! :(
This is from Rolling Stone's latest issue -- absolutely worth reading, if frightening. [From Issue 1063 — October 16, 2008]

Finally, for this evening, here is a very appropriate quotation by Saul Alinsky
'There's another reason for working inside the system. Dostoevsky said that taking a new step is what people fear most. Any revolutionary change must be preceded by a passive, affirmative, non-challenging attitude toward change among the mass of our people. They must feel so frustrated, so defeated, so lost, so futureless in the prevailing system that they are willing to let go of the past and change the future. This acceptance is the reformation essential to any revolution.'

tin,
i absolutely believe that george w is a better president than mccain would be.. i don't buy any of the mccain BS for a moment - when he tries to run off his inspirational words, it's robotic to say the best.. bush is an idiot, but he's more genuine than mccain.. so the question is, what's better, a genuine idiot with a sinister prick as vp (bush & cheney) or a sinister, idiotic prick with a genuine idiot as his vp (mccain & palin) - i pick the prior..

Balilife,
The choice is between John McInsane and Barry O'fraudma. Neither are suitable for the position, we'd have a much easier choice if the contest were between Palin and Biden but it's not.
You guys are incredible, you're allowed to call me every insulting name in the book but if I even belch in your direction, I get moderated.
However, it still doesn't change anything. Barry O'fraudma is probably using paid off connections to cover up the fact that he's an illegal alien otherwise, what's the harm in giving Berg the documents he has requested? John McInsane, elderly spoiled brat, who isn't mentally stable enough to operate a taxi service is going to be scratching his itchy finger on a trigger as president. If either one of these asswipes are elected we'll all be walking into world-wide thermonuclear warfare.
What's up Bert, now I'm not even allowed to write O' FRAUDMA in place of Obama?
Don
yeah right.. and you'd be for biden i suppose? don, you're just like every other radical right-winger out there that desperately clinches to any piece of slander when they're down in the hope they'll be saved by those as stupid as they are..Originally Posted by Sumatra
don, if you really believe this is true, if you believe there's even a 0.001% chance that he would have gotten to where he is today, with his significant opponents - then you need to check yourself into a psychiatric ward fast and if you're unable to understand why at this point you come across as mentally unstable, irrational and a lunatic, then you should probably just go straight for the exit and take one of your 18 rifles, sit on it and pull the trigger.. i mean this in all seriousness, you exhibit many ivan milat like characteristics..Originally Posted by Sumatra
