Virgin Blue and Jetstar say flights to and from Bali will resume today after volcanic ash caused their cancellation yesterday.
Ash from an erupting volcano in East Java was blowing into the flight path at Denpasar airport, causing delays for thousands of travellers.
The Darwin Volcanic Ash Advisory Centre, which has been monitoring the volcanic ash, expects it will have dispersed by this evening.
Virgin Blue is resuming flights today and Jetstar is going ahead with a flight from Perth at a revised time, but it is yet to make a decision on other flights.
Chris Davies from the Darwin Volcanic Ash Advisory Centre says the ash is dissipating.
"We're continuing to update airlines with our latest information," he said.
"At the moment we're telling them that we'll no longer be able to detect ash by this evening unless something major happens at the volcano itself, which would change the amount of ash in the atmosphere."
