Default Bali overpopulated with new comers says governor

Bali, Indonesia’s main tourist destination, is overpopulated by newcomers from various places in Indonesia, Governor Made Mangku Pastika said.

He said that the 5,632.8 square kilometer island was ideally inhabited by 1.5 million people. However, at this moment almost four million people occupied the island.

“The population has reached twice its ideal number. This does not yet include the four million domestic and foreign tourists coming to Bali every year,” Pastika said, as quoted by Antara on Saturday.

He cited the latest census which showed that Bali had experienced rapid population growth, increasing from 3.6 million in 2008 to almost four million in 2010.

“Newcomers add greatly to the population growth, while the birth rate contributes relatively less,” Pastika said, adding that most newcomers were unemployed.

“This is contradictory, because as a tourist destination Bali can offer various kinds of employment. Both formal or informal workers should use the opportunities,” he said.

What has overpopulation got to do with selling your land? Unless you want to move the feck away!

True! That happened to us. When we bought our land a guy tried to sell us road access for 7juta. But he couldn't produce a sertifikat showing that he owned the road because he had nothing whatsoever to do with the land to road was on. He didn't even own adjacent land. He just wanted us to give him some money.
Then later he tried to sell us the pile of rocks next to the road for our wall construction but of course he didn't own those either. If we'd paid him and removed them it would have been theft on our part.
    Hati hati.
