A quick, sick, and somewhat stupid story about my first time ordering ayam goreng which goes back some years.

This was at Café Lotus, well before Hans took it over. Anyway, my waiter was a young US educated Balinese who was just filling in while in between jobs. His English was tops, and so was his humor.

As often typical of waiters, he hovered closely by as I perused the menu. When I came to ayam goreng, I pointed to it and asked “ayam goreng?” Without missing a beat he said, “yes, you are, and I am Adolf Hitler!”

I looked at this for almost two minutes before I almost wet myself in laughter Guess I am not the sharpest knife in the box anymore
