Hi All, thought I'd share this with you all, coz it is pretty FUNNY!!!
Ok 3 years ago when Gede came out to Australia for 3 months (we were not yet married).
He arrived on the Saturday morning & we spent the weekend catching up with friends & family.
On Monday he decided to take Maddison for a bike ride along the bike track behind our place. Whilst walking along he bumped into many persons also going for a walk. Gede was wearing board shorts & a singlet top (he is covered in tattoos!) walking along whilst Maddison rode. He must have looked a sight!
Everyone that passed him smiled & said "G'day" so he responded saying "Hallo" They walked to our local Supermarket which is close to the bike track & he was supposed to buy, milk, bread, eggs & a slab of VB (beer). He went into the bottle shop bought the VB, & left!
Walking back along the bike track with VB under his arm & his daughter on her push bike.
They must have looked a funny, it was 10am!
But again everyone he passed said a polite "G'day" & he replied as usual.
I arrived home at 4:30pm to see him drinking a few beers in the sun & Maddison playing in a little blow up swimming pool, I was so happy to see my family all together.
Gede asked me why had I told EVERYONE that he was coming & his name?
I was confused at what he was sying & said "What are you talking about"
This back & forth conversation went on for a few minutes then the penny dropped & he started laughing, I was still confused at what he was asking!!! Then he said "I know now, people say Hello in Australia like G'day, but I thought they say Gede!!!!"
We both laughed as all day he had puzzled as to why I'd announce his arrival to everyone....
I then had to go get the rest of the shopping!!!
Anyways, just thought I'd share...
This is one of many, many misunderstandings & funny tales of Gede in Australia!!!!
Ahhh! that story put a huge smile on my face for hours!
Thanks :D
