I am sorry to see you go Blondie. The more you posted the more you answered my original question and that gave me a better insight into you the person and your reasons.

Can I suggest that although you leave Bali you remain in the forum and contribute here.

As for my wife she is unique in my eyes because she is the glue that binds our family together and my reason to love Indonesia in general although its myself that loves Bali.

Whatever you do good luck in doing it.
    Regards Jimbo

    Thumbs up

    Go blondie, go!!

I've been mostly lurking in this thread but I just want to wish you good luck with everything. And thank you for sharing your thoughts. I think a forum like this needs to expose both sides of the coins to stay sane and prospering and you just contributed in doing so IMO. One day you will probably look back on your Bali adventures and realise that they made you stronger.

Good luck and Selamat Jalan !!

    HI Guys,

Thanks for all your good wishes I really appreciate them, and I do realise that somehow the lessons Ive learned here... I really needed to learn... but they were tough ones, and I can't say I'd like to experience them again, so lets hope Ive got it sorted eh?

I think they've made me stronger, but I'm still a bit bruised and soooo tired, so I wont know for sure til I'm in the next place and look back as you say. I'd better be bloody stronger!

And guys, please remember that new people coming here, for their own survival, need to know the ugly bits as well as the beautiful bits - for balance. I think my biggest mistake was thinking that after Central and South America, the holiday Island of Bali would be a breeze...but its still to date the most challenging place I've ever lived, so give your new user friends a heads up

    I will keep in touch

    Regards
    N

The hardest thing is getting them out of Bali, which I have sorted, but which is nerve wracking to say the least

Thanks for your congrats... You're right, 4 weeks will fly..... 4 days ago I didn't even have anyone looking at the house and now... I'm booking flights

    xx
Being only new to the forum I have only just finished reading thread from start to finish to catch up, just as Blondie leaves us. I wish you all the best with your future and as we are moving to Bali in December, have taken everyones views onboard.
On another note if you have time Blondie, I am very interested in the details of what needed to be done to allow your animals out of the country. While I have put up some serious resistance, the family has dug their heels in about bringing our pet dog with us and if things where to not work out Iin Bali I need to consider all escape plans. You could PM me if you like.
I hope this thread has set a precedent for the future of this forum with some real honesty and views. I can buy fiction novels at the book store...LOL
    Cheers
