    Sanurian
In the past you have posted info re the Sanur wine warehouse near Makro.
In vain, I tried to find it.
Could you possibly add a little more info as to how to locate & recognise it.
    Thank you

Yes Vincent, it is a bit hard to find because there are no signs for it at all. (That's not to suggest it's some shady/illegal enterprise because as far as I know, it isn't.)

The name of the place is PT Surya Indah. Driving south from Sanur (towards Kuta and the airport), along the By-Pass Road, you pass MAKRO on the right-hand side. Continue to the first traffic lights and do a U-turn. On your left-hand side, you will pass a Pertamina depot...slow down, it's not far from there. There is a 3 storey building just off the By-Pass...at ground level, you should be able to see a few green-ish coloured doors and a small security booth just to the right of them. That's where it is.

Go in where the green doors are and upstairs to the office. You will be presented with their catalogue of goods. You pick what you want there and pay, after which they'll give you a receipt which you take with you back downstairs, past the security booth and out the back where the actual warehouse is. Present the receipt and the staff get your purchases for you.

It's basically about half-way between the traffic lights and MAKRO. I'm sure if, after you do the U-turn and ask somebody, they should know where it is. Good luck.

Let me know if you can't find it again. If so, the next time I'm there, I'll take a photo of it for you, but I think with this information, you should be able to find it. After all, even I did (eventually). Alternately, send me a PM; I'll give you my home phone number and I can take you there.

    Gedday Max

Yer Phil showed me that place one day back in January. It is not hard to find it is on the bypass an the LHS heading outa Kuta near the MAKRO sign.

    Just follow his directions.

Got back in town ourselves from SOLO last night and am heading up to Ubud to Nuris to see Brian Nuri and other members of the UM and also to find Roy... I hear he has a bung eye.

Has Bert let him back on yet - I have been busy with other things and have not checked in lately.

    Wanna come?

    Cheers

Thanks a lot guys. A (French wine loving) friend of mine told me about it and I couldn't find it so far. The pictures helps a lot, since I pass that spot every day. Will pay extra attention tomorrow!

This place was found without difficulty so thank you for the info.

    Feedback is as follows;

    PT Bali Surya Utama
    Wine Wholesaler
Jl By Pass Ngurah Rai 17A
    Pesanggaran
    Denpasar Selatan
    Tel 62361723014

    09-16.00 M-F
    09-13.00 Sat

A hand-painted “17A” is daubed on the wall so you will know when you find it.
A bit of a scummy dump.
    Pleasant, non-English speaking staff.
    Limited choice of wine.
    CHEAP champagne!!
Plenty of spirits but few single malts.
The usual Indonesian bureaucracy – 45 mins for in & out.
Conclusion – a tedious but rewarding experience for parsimonious types if time is not an issue.

    Hi Vincent...

...A hand-painted “17A” is daubed on the wall so you will know when you find it...
That "sign" is a very recent addition; looks more like some random graffiti. Still, it does make it a little bit easier to find, especially with the photo that Max posted above:

    http://www.baliblog.com/images/jul05/wine080105.jpg

And the "sign reads" something like PTSI 17A.
