WOW! I remember when this road was just two lanes wide, bordered by trees which, in some places, met on the top of it, making like a tunnel.

how are they gonna build this offline? ie allow traffic to continue to pass while the constuction takes place?

also looks like an awful lot of merging / lane crossing has to happen to get onto the circle.

wont work when people arent penalised for doing the wrong thing.

I think this first toll road in Bali will be an interesting trial. If it works well, meaning that plenty of people will pay the toll so that it's profitable, then maybe there's a chance for some toll roads to help with Denpasar to Gilimanuk amd Denpasar to Singaraja.

Agree with you here Ron, i have had lots of experience with toll roads in Java, especialy around Jakarta and they seem to work very well, plenty of money coming in and roads in reasonable condition. In particular, the road from Jakarta to Bandung is very good and very busy. Once the money starts to come in, the powers to be will be in a hurry to start more, i am sure.
