    Dear Athlete,

We are just days away from the second annual MRA Bali International Triathlon! With over 300 athletes in the triathlon and 5k fun run, prepare for an unforgettable race experience.

We have posted a preliminary Race Program on the site, so please view this PDF to review the customs of Bali, Course Maps, Race Week Schedule, and more. The final Race Program will be distributed at Packet Pick Up on Saturday, June 28 from 2pm - 6pm.

Remember that this year's race starts @ 7:00am, so please plan accordingly. This way, most athletes will be done before the heat of the day.

Friday's guided bike tour will be lead by Australian Pros Luke McKenzie and Amanda Balding. So join us Friday, June 27 at 8:00am for a tour of the bike course. This will be followed by a traditional Balinese bike blessing.

On Friday, there is also the Friday's Athlete Reception at the Bali Triathlon Headquarters in the Four Seasons. please RSVP to this event as well as Saturday's Pre-Event Dinner.

    See you soon,

Renato, Brennan, Robb, Arie, Rozi and Jack.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We are delighted and honored that this year's awards were designed and fabricated by Jenggala Keramik, one of the world's foremost ceramic producers. These unique glass and ceramic awards will be awarded to the top three in each age group and relay in the triathlon. Jenggala staff will be at the event to assist in packing these awards for your return travel.

Jenggala houses an extensive retail showroom of ceramic and glass tableware, accessories and handcrafted cutlery. In addition to that, Jenggala offers an art exhibition gallery, café and a ‘paint a pot’ program for the entire family.

For those interested in visiting Jenggala and taking a tour of the facilities, please email info@balitriathlon.com. The proposed times for a tour are Friday at 1pm, Saturday at 11 am or Monday at 11am.

For those wanting to visit at their own leisure, the showroom is open daily from 9am - 6pm. It is located within walking distance from both the Four Seasons Hotel and Intercontinental Hotel. Just walk south on Jalan Uluwatu to the light and then walk East on Jalan Uluwatu II. The Studio/Showroom is on the north side of the road. Click here for a map and address.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Athlete Reception at the Bali Triathlon HQ. We invite all athletes to join us Friday, June 27 from 5:00pm - 7:00pm for an informal gathering at the MRA Bali Triathlon HQ to meet their fellow competitors. This is located at the Four Seasons Private Estates. We encourage athletes to join us for some drinks and conversation before departing to nearby restaurants on the beach. If you are driving or being driven, please look for the signs directing you to the reception. For additional security, please bring your Passport or National ID card.

Pre-Event Dinner at Coconut Grove. All athletes are invited to the Pre-Event dinner at Coconut Grove on Saturday, June 28 at 5:00pm (immediately following the Mandatory Race Briefing). Additional food tickets can be purchased at the packet pick up and at the dinner for $15 US per adult and $7.00 per youth. There will also be a Cash Bar available for athletes and their guests. All triathletes will receive an athlete bracelet and lanyard at registration for admittance to the dinner.

Please RSVP to info@balitriathlon for these events.

Please plan to attend the traditional Balinese Bike Blessing on Friday, June 27 after the bike course ride. To respect local customs, we recommend that all athletes purchase a sarong ($1.50 - $3.00 US) and that women cover their shoulders during the ceremony. These can be purchased throughout the island as well as stores located next to the transition area. We will also be taking some group pictures at this time.

For those of you staying some extra days, please refer to the Bali Discovery Tours website for excursions throughout the island.

We will have a bike mechanic onsite Friday/Saturday and Sunday for last minute maintenance.

Finally, as we embark to the island of Bali, please be aware and respectful of local sensibilities, and dress and act appropriately, especially in religious sites. Please click here for a short list of items to be conscious of.

Default Re: Race Day is Sunday!

A great and comprehensive thread for the avid participants.

It's a pity the American friend I used to know in Seoul, S. Korea, who's very active on this sport and came all the way to Italy too for this but stopping over in Milan just to say hi, was an admirer; that if I contacted him for this info given here, he would think that I'd be in the package too... :) :)
I'm not trying to be silly or funny here, but it's true.
Yet, what a marvelous event this would be for him and in BALI to say the least.

    Thanks, Roy! And welcome back!
