indonesian marriage?

I have some question regarding indonesian marriage!

I`v heard that if a female (not from indo) would get married to a indonesian male she will be granted indonesian membership or permenent stay in indonesia? but if a male do the same he will not, is this true?

if so, is it because it`s alot more male (non indo) who marries with indo female then non indo female who marries with indo male and it seemed by the indo goverment that it easy can be exploited/abused?

what are the neccasary steps in buying a car or motorbike, registration, licenceplate, yearly, insurance and cost`s etc etc?

can I as a expat be the rightfull registration owner?
is there anyway to get indonesian driverslicense? I`v heard of people that got it a couple years ago, but on my last visit I was denied because not having kitas at least I think that was the reason!

New motorbike or second hand? If it's new one, depends on your car or motorbike's you got. I know for Taruna CSX, yearly tax is Rp. 1.600.000,-. Payment in Kantor Samsat where you bought that car or motorbike. You need insurance, usually dealer will guide you to their insurance office. For example, Toyota will guide you to Garda Otto Insurance, they have relationship. When you bought your car or motorbike, you'll get BPKB (Buku Pemilik Kendaraan Bermotor: Owner's identity), and STNK (Surat Tanda Nomor Kendaraan: Letter of car or motorbike's number). BPKB, you have to keep it in a very save place, and STNK have to bring it everywhere with your driving license.

Yes, if you buy it cash. About Indonesian driving license, ehmmm.. Without KITAS, I don't think you'll get it. Only tourist driving license, if you don't have any KITAS. But, really expensive 'cause monthly payment around Rp. 160.000,- (if I am not wrong) :shock:

well if a tourist drivers licence is that expensive it will be cheaper just to pay the "fine" whenever I get stopped by the police.
