You may have noticed I have been away for a while and as I said I have been to my Father in Laws funeral. I was going to go into this in great detail but then I thought that this would not be appropiate in a Bali forum as it would have been about the Torajan culture not the Balinese one. If you have an interest Google Tanah Toraja and see for yourself.
I am now in the process of buying a house in Makassar because Maria has decided that she would prefer to live here closer to her family and this got me thiking even more. It is now unlikely for the forseeable future that I will acheive my dream of living in Bali. As such I thought I would run a poll an see if the interest I have in this forum should be a reason to stay here or should I leave and let those who will or itend to move to Bali have the floor. I will leave the choice to you.
Either way this forum has been part of my daily life for some time and I thank you for my enjoyment of it.
Regards Jimbo
Hi Jimbo,
Yes, this is definitely a Bali forum. However, Bert has given you the privilege of having your own blog, so you should be able to use it as you please (within reason, but there is no question that you are a reasonable person). Personally, I would welcome your comments, observations, anecdotes, etc, about Sulawesi. I love Indonesia as a whole, and Sulawesi is an amazing place. I am sure all of your postings will not overwhelm the Bali Forum. So go ahead and regal us with news from UPG, Toraja and the rest. What says Bert?
Keep on smiling.

I agree the Daniel. I also think it would be a great loss if you did not post. I have a friends from Sulawesi who comes from Makassar and I would be interested in hearing more about Sulawesi - maybe in your blog if that is the right place.
You still have the love for Bali - I don't live in Bali but I still post. I see no difference in your situation.

:( i got deleted :( i didn't think that post was too contentious..

Jimbo, I would love to hear your stories of everyday life when you feel like sharing them. I don't live in Bali, many of us here don't but that doesn't preclude us from any threads that interest us.
Balilife, what's the point of your post. If it's gone it's meaningless to us.
my karma ran over my dogma
Jimbo, your stories are very interesting, so I expect you stay
As others have pointed out Jimbo, you don't need to live in Bali to contribute to this forum.
As an ex-Lombok ex-pat, I still feel I have something to contribute to a Bali ex-pat forum. Anyone with a love for Bali, or just Indonesia can make a valuable contribution.
I hope you continue to share your adventures with us.

A Lot of kind words for which I thank you. This forum is the best I have seen on Bali and has Bert has said it has quality rather than quantity.
Anything non Bali I will but in the Blog.
