    ..and like every year is time to decide the program for next holidays !!!!
    That's why this morning I confirmed the reservation for my villa in semyaniak.............
    :D :D
    When I was Kid it was always a last time decision for my vacation
    Now it's different...... what's happened?

    The "Yak" is quite a place. It is full of very trendy shops and restaurants, most all being only a few years old. If you make it up to Ubud, I’ll make a pot of my “Balinese” pasta sauce...but I need two days advance warning. Massimo once told me it is better than his mom’s. Of course, he would never say that in front of his mom! :P

    Just for grins, here's his "take out" menu which I din't cut and pasted properly, but you'll get the idea! Funny how just reading an Italian menu can make one very, very hungry!

    Massimo's??? My most favourite dining establishment, and a very good friend! Don't tell me you're a "regular" there, are you Roy? We are in there about a couple times a week, at least, I'll look out for you in future......ah, unless you are part of the lunch-time crowd, but you could always give me a call or SMS. (Have you tried his self-imported Grappa? Now there's another fine drink!!!)
    Perhaps you should have mentioned that Massimo's is in Sanur, not Seminyak?

    Two martinis Colin if you can find where I said Massimo's restuarant is in Seminyak. And, since you won't find that from my pen, you owe me two martinis at Nuris. :P

    Take a good look at the bottom post part of my post, as it reads:

    To be frank and honest, I don't get out of Ubud that much. I used to see a lot more of Massimo when he was part of the Lotus chain. We have a great mutual friend, Pak Hans, of Cafe Lotus in Ubud. Massimo and Hans used to work together, and they were a team to beat all! Eri and I had lunch just yesterday with Hans, and we toasted Massimo. When you next see him, you can give him a big hug, and plant a kiss on his cheek from Eri and me.

    I guess it seems odd, being that Sanur is only about 40 minutes from Ubud, that I don't pick my ass up and go there more often. Yet again, life in my village, and being a dad of three boys keeps me very busy here, not to mention that Eri is a member of our women's gamelon, and her time is stretched too.

    When it all gets boiled down to the essentials...I find them all just within a short walk.

    I knew that, Roy, I was just testing you :!: :oops:

    Great place he has now, big and airy like a restaurant back in Italy, and it has to be a very busy night if you can't find a table under a fan away from the smokers. Even then, there is the non-smokers' area - which at Massimo's is a totally enclosed glass windowed air-conditioned lounge! But it does remove you from the ambience of the restaurant.

    Last January I had dinner at Massimo' s and at The Village. Same street other site. The village was the absolute winner.
