cost of rice per kg?

Can someone tell me the price per kg for rice at the moment? (The reasonable quality stuff - 25 or 50 KG bag). Can't keep up with the price hikes.

Absolutely fantastic. I was pleased to say I understood every single word so at least my Bahasa Pasar is still ok. at Rp5000 per kilo.....ouch! Last time I bought brass best quality was R500. How inflation strikes :-)

Wow talk about inflation. That is about +60% in two years if memory serves me correctly. If the price of bread back here in Oz had gone up 60% the population would be screaming blue murder! I know, fuel price hike - but we've had a pretty big hike here, and while food has gone up, it hasnt gone up that much.

The 5000 rp is the price in my local Toko next door.

Prices in Hardy's probably will be lower, will check later...

I know that in the villages the government sometimes distributes rice at much lower prices.

25 kilos of reasonable rice costs about Rp 95,000-100,000 around here (Sanur).

The price of beer has been steadily creeping up as well. We're paying Rp 162,000 for a crate (16 large bottles of Bintang), home-delivered.

Cost of 25 kg bag of rice is already reaching Rp. 120,000 this morning. Few days ago was Rp. 117,000 and six weeks ago was Rp. 103,000. The quoted prices above are for Denpasar area, from Pasar Badung, Pasar Kreneng and Pasar Adat. And, this is the cheapest quality one, not premium!

As Nayusari points out, harga beras depends on several factors. One factor is the rice itself...standard Bali white, premium Bali white, Bali red, or Bali black, and the other factor is the amount and venue where one is buying the beras.

My wife has never paid more than 70 k for a 25 kilo bag of “normal” beras Bali.
