Saya bisa bahasa bebek Indonesia, tapi sekarang saya harus belajar bahasa Indonesia baik dan benar.
They are planning to make Indonesian a requirement to obtain a Kitas.
Oh Boy...
Might be a problem for Roy! :shock:Originally Posted by Bert

For working permits, (Kitas visas) the law states that every applicant, and renewal applicant will have to pass a Bahasa Indonesia proficiency test. However, business visa holders will not be subject to this new regulation (as explained to me).
Anyone hanging in these parts for any length of time knows that “many laws are passed, but few are enacted.” But for sure, I’m sticking to my business visa, and next year, likely the retirement visa...hu ha, 55 in November! Wisely, even the Indonesian government knows that you can’t teach an old dog new tricks!
Not to worry Mats...I've been dodging bullets for years!

hehe roy.. i don't consider myself to be really good at anything except creating music, photography and some computer-related stuff. when it comes to language i seem to learn and pick up accents quite easy, but i'm far from fluent in .. well.. any language. one really strange thing i am told about my "english" is that i've picked up an american accent... and i've never even spent time in the states! guess watching too much CNN in my teens actually did affect me in some way.
